tips:

For optimal burning:

- Never leave a burning candle or hot wax where it may harm someone or catch it's surroundings on fire. Use caution around children, pets, and textiles like curtains & blankets.

- Our eco-cotton wicks are capable of self-trimming. However, you should still check that there isn't an excess amount (more than 1cm) of burned wick before reigniting your candle. If your flame is dancing/flickering, you should trim the wick. To trim the wick on a cold hardened candle, simply pinch off the black burned part with your fingers. You can also use scissors or wick trimmers.

- Burn your candle for a minimum of 1 hour, or until the melted pool of wax reaches all edges of the glass jar. This prevents "tunneling" (training your candle to create a tunnel down the center) and gets the most use out of your candle.

- Do not burn a candle for more than 3-4 hours. This may cause the candle to get too hot and liquify too much or crack the glass.

- You can extinguish your candle flame with the metal lid, no candle snuffer necessary! Just set the lid on top, the flame will go out, wait for it to be cool enough to touch, then screw the lid down to keep in the scent until next time.

- Each wick is secured in the center of the jar with a small sticker. This is to prevent the wick from floating to the edge of the glass which can cause the jar to crack and burst. Candles should still be monitored once down to the bottom 1/3 of the jar to ensure that the wick does not come loose and float to the edge, causing the glass to overheat.

When your candle is done:

- Glass jars can be recycled, and reused indefinitely! You can wash them up and use them for holding little bits and bobs, dried herbs & spices, a plant pot, the unreachable amount of shampoo in the bottom of the bottle, sewing needles, grandma's extensive button collection, anything your heart desires!

Gently use a spoon or dull butter knife to pop out any remaining wax, the wick & wick sticker. Dispose of the metal wick base and securing sticker. Because we only use 100% natural components, the soy wax and brown kraft labels are compostable in your green bin!
Soak the jar in hot water, the label will soften so you can just push it off, and the wax will melt and dissolve, you can use a bit of dish soap to cut any oiliness.
